Imagine being one of those lucky children that, for a moment, was able to forget about the troubling times of the depression when their hero Babe Ruth signed a baseball and gave it to them. You can almost envision Babe in his street clothes, chomping down on a cigar and saying, "Here ya go, kid," followed by a "Wow, thanks Mr. Ruth." Presented is a prime example of one of those childhood keepsakes. Penned on the sweet spot of an Official American League Ernest Barnard ball (1929-1931), the clean steel-tip fountain pen signature of Babe Ruth is delivered effortlessly on the hide, possessing "6-7" strength with no smudges nor breaks. The aged sphere show signs of abrasions and what appears to be paint on the west panel, which does not impede the appearance of the signature side. A stunning Ruth autograph with the character of a well-weathered but highly presentable orb! Full LOA from JSA.
