Only seven examples are graded higher by PSA than this 1933 Goudey Lou Gehrig card, one of the most recognized pasteboards in the hobby. Even the most discriminating collector will have a hard time finding fault with this iconic beauty, stretching the limits of NM/MT specifications and striving toward consideration of that half-point bump. Nicely centered with just the slightest preference for the east edge, while four upper-shelf points of distinction surround and contain the unmistakably clean and crisp artwork of "The Iron Horse", perfectly preserved within the encapsulating PSA 8 holder. The color of this #92 Gehrig is vivid and precisely delivers Lou's likeness through the detail of his Yankee pinstripes as well as the peachy flesh tones of his face. The robins-egg blue background and "Big League" banner bursts forth with unabashed strength. The reverse is pleasingly printed with some stray print markings but no bleeding from the front. A stellar card of this Yankee immortal, offered in exceptionally high end NM/MT condition.
