Graded NM/MT 8 by PSA. Just as it says on the reverse of this special card, "One of the biggest siege guns of the New York Yankees" Lou Gehrig was Robin to Babe Ruth's Batman, and the only reason he may have played second fiddle was for the reason that he didn't play to the limelight like his more personable teammate. Of the nearly 900 copies of this card that have been graded by PSA to date a mere 6 copies have been graded higher than the featured collectible! Exceptionally well centered with gorgeous creamy white borders acting as a divider to the stunning robin's egg blue that surrounds the Yankee immortal. All four of the corners appear at the higher end of the NM/MT grade save for the lower right corner which shows a micro touch of wear at the very extreme point of the corner. The surface of this regal pasteboard is a smooth palette that offers the enthusiast a problem-free appearance and acts as the perfect field to house the perfectly registered image of Gehrig. The colors are over the top with a pinstriped "Iron Horse" appearing in his left handed batting stance with a steely blue Yankee cap adorning his head. The reverse of this powerhouse of a card provides a deeply green inked biography rest atop an opaque white stock common to the issue. A stunning rendition of this exceptionally important card offered in spectacular NM/MT condition.
