Graded NM/MT 8 by PSA. 1933 Goudeys are universally recognized by enthusiasts as one of the most beautiful of all issues as well as being one of the most important sports card offerings of all time. From within this outstanding series of subjects hails this impressive offering of one of two Lou Gehrig cards that was released. The youth of the day must have been clambering for the featured pasteboard after the amazing season the "siege gun" of the Yankees enjoyed in 1932, blasting 34 home runs and batting an awe-inspiring .349. Surpassed by just six copies in the online "Pop Report" by PSA, the offered card features a litany of highlights! Four utterly flawless corners stand and command the attention of all onlookers as if to dispel the claim of their assessment as only "8" corners. The centering is above reproach with a balanced image held by four wonderful lightly antiqued white borders. The image is an intense well registered production that allows for the inspection of the detailed pinstriped Yankee uniform. The colors are a blessing of a scintillating robins egg blue background that literally holds the image of the famed slugger in full swing. The reverse is a creamy white stock that acts as a suitable offering for the deeply green inked bio. Offered in NM/MT 8 condition in regards to the PSA "flip" although we will disagree and call the offered example NM/MT+ with many attributes of a higher graded card.
