You can search the internet and quickly find photos of just about any baseball great. But only in someone's personal estate do you find the personal snapshots not meant for the general public; the kind that portrays the man, not the athlete. This trio of vintage photos is not in the mainstream, likely a humble memory reserved exclusively for the Bottomley residence. First up is an oval portrait of "Sunny Jim" housed in a heavy brass frame. Next is a small rectangular photo case with an oval photo of wife Betty, inscribed "To the Bestest Husband Ever, your Betsy. The third photo shows an older Bottomley, who likely had already passed since there is an attached poem that speaks to life without him. A great glimpse into the life and family of a baseball great.
