Never heard of Angry Signs? That's because it doesn't exist, at least not to the general public. In 1967 Topps released a limited 88-item test issue called Angry Stickers, which featured nonsensical protest slogans such as "Support Tantrums" and "Slurp Your Soup." But even before that test issue made it out of production, Topps produced a small number of prototype packs, sealed in plain white wrappers with labels affixed to the top side. At that time, the idea was to call the collection "Angry Signs" and feature a yellow background that was later changed to black. Presented are the only three prototype packs known to exist. Two of the packs remain intact with one that has a notation "5/23/67 NYC' on the label and the seal is broken on the third, though the contents of the cards have never been touched, so there's no way to tell if these are actually cards that were later changed to stickers, along with the name, or if they were stickers all along. Either way, it's a unique opportunity for any non-sports collector to acquire something recently not known to even exist!
Extremely Rare 1967 Topps Test Group of (3) Packs of Angry Signs
