Offered is an outstandingly scarce example of Pat Whitacre's N173 Old Judge post-production proof card. Whitacre appeared in the famed N172 Old Judge issue with poses for both the Philadelphia A's as well as Baltimore. The featured collectible appears affixed to a much larger mount than the size of the image and has Whitacre written on the mount at the top. Bent over in a fielding position the surface has many cracks that suggest that the materials used for the post production items isn't consistent with the regular issue as this isn't seen in final production examples. An interesting and curious card that should fit nicely into an advanced 19th century collection. The offered example most likely hails as a post production example that was released between 1890-1915.
