Those are some wealthy hands as Babe Ruth sat down to sign his new contract worth $160,000 for two years, an unheard-of sum in 1930 when the average salary was less than $1,500 and unemployment was at 18%. And the Yankees were more than happy to pay it, with Ruth completing another record-breaking season with a .345 batting average and a league-leading 46 round-trippers, making him the home run king for the fourth consecutive season and for the 10th time in 12 years (he'd win the title both years of this new contract as well). Ruth was certainly pleased with his financial situation as evidenced by the black ink autograph added below his hands, a flawlessly bold penning from start to finish that earns the rarely seen grade of GEM MINT 10 by PSA/DNA. Measures 3 1/4" x 2 3/4" overall.
