Worn on “Turn Back the Clock Day,” July 18th, 2001, this 1970s powder blue game-used Alex Rodriguez Texas Rangers jersey is sure to evoke memories of Toby Harrah and Billy Sample. Hey, is Danny Darwin starting tonight? Nope, but one of the greatest hitters ever to play sure is! The Mitchell & Ness label is inside the collar, as is a size 50 tag flag, marked with an “AROD 3 ASI 2496” authenticity sticker. The Cooperstown Authentic Collection and “7-18-01” felt swatch appears on the front left tail. The reverse is autographed and inscribed, “Alex Rodriguez, 2001 game used”; sounds like pretty good provenance to me! The jersey exhibits nice game use, with some staining on the front and back.
