In some ways, the 1986 Fleer basketball series is like the 1952 Topps baseball set; a pioneering collection from a company with a long history of producing trading cards but trying their hand in a new market. In Fleer's case, it was a second attempt as their 1961 collection came and went, but both the 1986 Fleer basketball and 1952 Topps baseball sets produced a card that stands as the most significant post-war hobby icon in their respective sports. And with the price of Michael Jordan RCs recently reaching prices that no one could have predicted, one can argue that the Jordan RC has caught and surpassed the '52 Topps Mantle in popularity. But the '86 Fleer basketball set isn't all about MJ; it includes a bevy of important rookie cards like Ewing, Thomas, Dumars, Olajuwon, Malone, Mullin, Barkley, Drexler, and Worthy. The featured collection is absent the Michael Jordan rookie card, sparing you an added expense if you already have one or allowing you to take a less financially-heavy route by adding one in lesser grade, with every other card in the series graded PSA 9 MINT. This collection has performed like a runaway train over the past few years and likely will continue to grow in value. All the heavy lifting has been done, now you just need to pull the trigger and record that winning bid! ADDENDUM: THE IMAGE THAT APPEARS IN THE PRINT CATALOG FOR THIS LOT IS INCORRECT. THIS IS THE CORRECT IMAGE FOR THE SET. WE APOLOGIZE FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE
