Most of the great 1986 Fleer rookie cards, including the introduction of Michael Jordan, were preceded by 'true" debut pasteboards of the little known Star Company, which distributed their product in 12-card team sets that were sealed in plastic bags. Each of the 24 sealed bags that make up the entire Star collection are featured here, perhaps the first time such a collection has ever been offered at auction. The sealed team bag that features the Chicago Bulls shows the coveted card #101 of Michael Jordan right on the top, easily the most elusive basketball card for advanced collectors. As the close up scan below shows, the Jordan card shows no chipping at the corners or edges, which are MINT to GEM MINT. According to Star's original order form, about 3,000 bags were distributed for each team. If you think about how many of those bags could still be intact and sealed, a complete 24 bag set seems nearly impossible, but here it is!
