If you had any doubt that Rickey Henderson was one of the greatest players in baseball history, just ask him! A specialist in third-person speech, there was no greater fan of Rickey Henderson than Rickey Henderson. But accompanying his gargantuan ego was an ability to hit and run equally as large. Nicknamed “The Man of Steal,” Henderson shattered every base-stealing record in the books, topping the 100 steal mark three times, leading the league 12 times, and setting records for steals in a season with 130, with his career base swiping mark of 1,406 almost 500 higher than his closest rival, Lou Brock. Henderson was as outstanding at the plate was he was on the bases, with over 3,000 hits, 297 lifetime homers and 1,115 RBI, almost entirely as a leadoff hitter! Presented is a game-used uniform, worn by Hall of Famer Rickey Henderson and comes from the personal collection of former Oakland A’s executive Andy Dolich. This white gamer bears a team swatch “81” on the front left tail, Henderson’s third season in the bigs, with a Wilson size 40 label inside the collar. On the back, under Henderson’s #35, is a very large black sharpie Henderson signature. The matching pants have a team stitched swatch inside the waistband “81 36 28 28” next to the Wilson manufacturer’s label. Good game use is evident, with staining prevalent but not limited to the front of the jersey. LOA from Andy Dolich, Mile High Card Co.
