Thought to be one of the most intriguing trades of the 1980s, the St. Louis Cardinals sent hot-hitting shortstop Garry Templeton to the San Diego Padres for slick-fielding Ozzie Smith. While Templeton went on to have a long and healthy career in San Diego, Ozzie became a Hall-of-Famer in St. Louis. Offered is a game-used St. Louis Cardinals jersey, worn by Garry Templeton in 1981, his last season in St. Louis. Stitched inside the front right tail is the Rawlings size 42 tag and “Set 1 1981” flag. The numbers and individually stitched letters are applied with two-color tackle twill, with the Cards logo embroidered onto the front. A beautiful gamer from the 1980s! LOA from Mile High Card Co.
