Well past the final episode of the original series but still three years prior to the franchise's first motion picture, Star Trek has remained so popular with the sci-fi crowd that Topps decided to cash in on the cult following with an 88-card set in 1976. While the collection isn't as extremely scarce as the glossy black and white cards that Leaf produced in 1967, it's still highly coveted by non-sports collectors with 23 collections listed on the PSA Current Finest Set Registry that are 100% complete. Though it isn't difficult to locate high-grade cards at shows, hunting down unopened boxes like the one featured here has become very difficult. Offered is an unopened wax box of 36 ten cent packs, authenticated and sealed with the BBCE label. As the timeless series continues forward with new concepts and movies, items like this can only become even more popular.
