A key starting pitcher for Billy Martin's Oakland A's of the 70s and 80s, Steve McCatty's best season was a 14-7 campaign in 1981 when he completed 16 of 22 starts and led the American League with four shutouts. Offered is McCatty's game-used home rookie jersey from 1977 and signed by McCatty on the front logo. This jersey was actually issued in 1976 to another player, then re-issued with the back number and name changed for McCatty, a common practice at the time. The size 44 jersey has the appropriate McAuliffe uniform Corp. and "1976" year tag on the center front tail with individually stitched letters and double tackle twill stitched numbers on the reverse.
