If you have a fondness for Topps-style cards printed outside the USA or an appreciation for really rare rookie cards, you'll be just like us and find it extraordinarily difficult to take your eyes off of this GEM 1973 O-Pee-Chee rookie card, featuring Ron Cey and Hall of Famer Mike Schmidt. First off, you gotta flip it over, because that OPC back is always so intriguing, a brilliant "alternate universe" canvas that looks like a perfect Topps card with just a slight OPC shade variance, along with a mini French lesson. The black bordered edges reveal no traces of chipping and there's nothing blemishing the surface. Flip it over and you get a canvas of pure white, with bold royal blue names and perfectly delivered photos. Each corner is virtual perfection, and the subtle rough cut is a bit of a tease, demure by typical O-Pee-Chee standards. If you're an ambitious collector that strays outside the red, white and blue, this should be right up your alley. It's awesome!
