A rock solid catcher for over 20 years in the major leagues, Ted Simmons broke the 20 homer mark six times and appeared in eight all-star games. Presented is the helmet Simmons wore during the 1970s as a member of the St. Louis Cardinals. This size 7 5/8 helmet shows extensive use, most evidenced by the missing part of the St. Louis decal and scratches and scuff marks on the top. Inside the helmet there is a black felt tip written "23" and the plastic sweat band has yellowed with use. LOA from Lou Lampson/100% Authentic, Mile High Card Company.
