Few would argue that while Ted Williams was an irreplaceable talent in the Boston outfield, slugger Carl Yastrzemski served quite well as his successor. Though Yaz, like Williams before him, never brought the coveted World Series crown to Boston, he did smash 452 home runs, drive in 1,844 runs (#13 all-time), and win three American League batting titles. While not a particularly large man at 5'11" and 175 lbs., Yaz indeed carried a big stick, as evidenced by this 1970s era Louisville Slugger. At 33 1/2" and 31.2 ounces, it had the perfect balance of length and weight for Yaz's unique batting stance. The bat is mostly dark brown with a more natural wood tone scattered about where the affects of time and wear and taken its toll. Shadows remain on the handle where tape was removed and the handle itself has been repaired as a result of a crack. The knob has "W215" imprinted in the center. An amazing piece of history from one of Boston's finest! LOA from Mile High Card Company.
