Willie Mays had just reached the 600 career HR mark the previous season, so it's quite fitting that he was assigned to be card #600 in the 1970 Topps issue. Closing in on the final years of his astounding career, the "Say Hey Kid" would get his 3000th career hit just before this was placed into the gum card packs. Exhibiting more MINT qualities than it's PSA assessment, one must look long & hard to find the reason. It appears to have the image quality, perimeter strength, and centering of a more elite illustration. Perhaps, it's the minuscule touch to the extreme lower left tip. If this were my card, I'd certainly consider a review.
