Before being hired, and fired, and hired, and fired etc... as skipper of the New York Yankees and several other major league teams, Billy Martin earned his managerial bona fides in 1968 when he guided the Denver Bears of the Pacific Coast League. Though the team finished barely above .500, 21 of the 28 players on the roster got a taste of the big-leagues at some point during their career. The featured jersey was worn by Billy Martin in his managerial debut year with the Denver Bears, a Wilson size 44 gamer with appropriate tagging inside the collar and light to moderate puckering on the Bears lettering and Martin's familiar number "1". The jersey shows evidence of wear and has avoided most of the usual ground in dirt that many gamers possess; perhaps Martin was careful only to kick dirt on the umpire during the many protested calls that didn't go his way. The jersey is all original with no restoration or alterations of any kind. A great piece of baseball history from one of the game's most fiery participants. LOA from Mile High Card Company.
