The 1968 Mets Rookie Stars card featuring Jerry Koosman and Nolan Ryan rates as one of the most popular releases of the last 50 years. But the combination of Ryan's popularity and the difficulty to find specimens that are both well-centered and pack-fresh have made acquiring a card graded at PSA 8 or above a very frustrating task. And with a GEM MINT specimen finally on the books at PSA, owners of Ryan RCs that have managed to snap up a MINT copy have suddenly requested that PSA take a second look. Now we aren't saying that a review of this PSA 9 Ryan RC will yield another 10 since a few flecks of pink print is visible in the purple circle, but what you would be getting is one fantastic card that could rival any in its grading tier. This noticeably high-end specimen features sharp MINT+ corners joining chip-free GEM MINT edges on both the front and the susceptible yellow-printed reverse. Finished with a smooth, even application of gloss, this richly registered Ryan rookie is simply one of the nicest in existence!
