Easily the most difficult card of the already elusive 1968 Topps 3-D set, it should surprise exactly no one who is an avid collector of this series that only a scant 25 examples of Boog Powell have ever surfaced at PSA, the lowest of any non-variation card in the series. Though an innovative and popular test issue, Topps never gave a thumbs up for mainstream production as the recipe for making the 3-D images also made it vulnerable to cracks and scratches, so it was impossible to deliver a product of acceptable quality to the public. The reverse has the common stamp that reads, "This is an experimental XOGRAPH card produced as a limited edition. Not for public circulation or distribution. Not for resale. To be returned to: Visual Panographics, Inc. 488 Madison Avenue, New York, New York." The featured card is one of only 3 to reach the level of PSA 9, also among the lowest of any card in the set. Strong MINT to GEM MINT features dominate this beauty card in every perceivable facet including the rare presence of outstanding centering. A phenomenally difficult card that many PSA Set Registry collections sorely need.
