In 1968, the Kansas City Athletics moved to Oakland and finished 82-80, a 20 game improvement from their 62-99 record in 1967 and the beginning of the “Swingin’ A’s” dynasty that would soon capture three consecutive World Series Championships. Reggie Jackson, playing his first full season, led the offense with 29 homers, and John “Blue Moon” Odom brought home 16 victories with an impressive 2.45 ERA. Offered is the flannel game-used jersey vest of Odom from 1968 and that inaugural year in Oakland. This impressive gamer has the McAuliffe manufacturer’s label on the front left tail, accompanied by a red “’68” year tag and white “40” size tag. The two-tone logo and numbers are individually green on white tackle twill stitched, and the piping on the collar and sleeves are undamaged. Excellent game use is apparent, with considerable puckering on the numbers. An awesome vintage garment. LOA from Mile High Card Co.
