Posing on the stadium grass with a typically bright Los Angeles sky in the backdrop, Dodgers ace Sandy Koufax is presented in perfect registration with thoroughly MINT to GEM MINT characteristics on this PSA 9 example from the 8-card 1966 L. A. Dodgers postcard set. With his career cut short by arthritis in his elbow, the entire Koufax collection is considerably smaller than other Hall of Famers of his day, many of which played in excess of 20 seasons. But during the final five seasons, he was one of the most dominant pitchers in baseball history. Koufax would complete his final season by posting league bests in wins (27), ERA (1.73), complete games (27) and strikeouts (317) while earning his third Cy Young award. One of only 3 graded PSA 9 with a single specimen graded higher.
