If not for the mild shift toward the right, this 1965 Topps card of ace hurler Sandy Koufax would possibly be campaigning for a grade one-half point higher. Sandy appears ready for the upcoming 1965 campaign, and if the previous season's 19-5 record and 1.74 ERA were any indication, it should have been NL hitters that need extensive preparation. An excellent example for the grade, sporting a perfectly registered image and uncommonly strong black printing on the reverse.
