Until he led the National League with a 2.54 ERA in 1962, Sandy Koufax's career had been rather ordinary and the word "potential" was often used to describe his ability. Well, that potential was realized when Koufax posted a combined 97-27 record from 1963-1966, leading the league in ERA each year while topping the charts in wins, shutouts and strikeouts three times. Presented is Koufax's Topps card from 1963 and an extremely tough find at the PSA 9 level, matched by just 18 others with none graded higher. Of course, the red edges along the bottom are usually the first thing to knock a '63 Koufax out of MINT consideration, but this beauty yields absolutely nothing that removes it from the MINT tier. The corners and edges would likely qualify it for a GEM MINT rating however the less than perfect centering prevents it. A key card from a very popular series that is sure to find its way into a PSA Set Registry collection.
