Although his previous year's home run total had dropped to "only" 30 round-trippers, his success in the post-season, as well as the three American League MVP awards under his belt, ensured that New York's Mickey Mantle was still the darling of baseball world, and his 1963 Topps card with the possible exception of the Pete Rose rookie card in retrospect, remained the key piece to the colorful collection. The offered card of the Mick provides the enthusiast with an unusually stunning high-end rendition of Mantle's 1963 Topps issue, one of the tougher issues of "The Commerce Comet" from the decade of the 60s to land at this grade level. A bright green nameplate engulfs the bottom portion showing no evidence of chipping with the corners appearing at near perfection. The centering is dead-on accurate and the surface is encased in a generous layer of luscious gloss that seemingly has electrified this majestic card. A stunning card offered in MINT condition
