One of the most celebrated heroes in Washington Redskins history, signal-caller Billy Kilmer led Washington to five consecutive playoff appearances, including an appearance in Super Bowl VII. This 1962 Topps rookie card of Kilmer is a key piece to the difficult 1962 Topps series, and at a grade of PSA 9, it represents one of just 4 examples to earn the highest grade on record with the California grading company. Almost GEM MINT in quality, there's barely a speck of imperfection anywhere around the black-edged perimeter, and had the the side to side horizontal centering been just a couple of degrees shifted to the left, this might have been the first card in the entire 1962 Topps football series to finally score a GEM MINT grade. A stunning example that will no doubt end up in a collection at or near the top of the PSA Set Registry.
