It seems like Mickey Mantle was involved in some sort of important, historically significant series of events during the 1961 campaign, especially toward the end of the season, but I just can't quite put my finger on it. Maybe it will come to me later. At any rate, offered here is a stellar example of the Mick's '61 Topps card, graded NM/MT 8 by PSA. A brilliantly-focused image is framed by smooth, balanced borders, with no obtrusive print overspray readily apparent. Perhaps a very light touch to the lower left is preventing a higher grade, but this is certainly one of the nicest NM/MT 8 specimens you will ever encounter.
