Perhaps the greatest underdog story in NFL history, Johnny Unitas was drafted in the 9th round by the Pittsburgh Steelers and cut from the team without ever having thrown a pass. Picked up by the Colts the next season to be used as a backup, Unitas went on to NFL immortality. Presented is a NM/MT specimen of Unitas from the 1961 Topps set, lightly centered toward the northeast with NM/MT corners and supported by an unusually problem-free glowing yellow backdrop. A fantastic example of the always difficult card #1.
