What? The opportunity to acquire any unopened 1961 Fleer basketball pack is cause for celebration, but the heavy lifting has already been done here as the featured GAI 8.5 NM/MT+ graded pack already offers the grand prize of the series, a Wilt Chamberlain rookie card, on the bottom and an example of all-world Hall of Famer Bill Russell on the top. Not bad for what would have been an initial investment of only a nickel some 60+ years ago. The two most influential players in NBA history not named Jordan, Chamberlain did it by rewriting the record book and setting marks that will likely never be duplicated, including a season of over 50 points per game in his run of six consecutive scoring titles, and 12 consecutive seasons of averaging over 20 rebounds per game. Perhaps the most impressive mark in Chamberlain's body of work is his #1 all-time career average of 45.8 minutes per game (Russell is #2 at 42.3 mpg). Speaking of Russell, the consummate winner was selected to the all-star team 12 times and took home 11 NBA championships for the Boston Celtics over his 13-year career. His career mark of 22.5 rebounds per game is second only to Chamberlain. Now as impressive as this already sounds, there's still the possibility of a Jerry West or Oscar Robertson rookie card sandwiched somewhere in between the two legends.
