If you're going to invest in an unopened 1961 Fleer basketball pack, why not go for the gold and get the set's grand prize right on top? The 1961 Fleer basketball set is a hobby icon as it's not just their inaugural attempt to delve into the world of basketball but also contains several other important rookie cards; Jerry West and Oscar Robertson in particular to go with the debut of Chamberlain. The rookie card of Michael Jordan might be the standard-bearer of the basketball genre but the Wilt Chamberlain rookie card is a close second. Wilt "The Stilt's" body of work is so gaudy compared to his contemporaries that he could easily be deemed the Babe Ruth of basketball. The pack is graded GAI 9 MINT, giving every indication that the cards waiting within are pristine and ready to be discovered if you dare take that chance. Accurate centering is always a dicey proposition with this issue, but with MINT 9 specimens easily clearing a quarter of a million dollars, this could turn out to be a huge jackpot for the winning bidder. The wrapper has a slight tear on the left side but it does not affect the seal of the pack or the cards held inside.
