Entering the decade of the 1960's with 144 lifetime homers at age 25, there were rumblings that "Hammerin" Hank" might finally be the superstar slugger who takes Babe Ruth's all-time home run crown (spoiler alert - he did). By the end of the '60s, Aaron had added another 375 round trippers and was the 4th youngest player in major league history to reach the 500 homer plateau. The featured card of Aaron is graded SGC 96 MINT 9 and has retained the bold color and incredible gloss you'd expect to find on 1960 Topps cards at this grade level. Of particular note is the yellow backdrop supporting the black and white pose, which offers barely more than a speck of stray print in what is usually a breeding ground for errant marking. Each corner meets MINT expectations with a valid case for an even higher determination while the centering comes very close to perfection. One of only 3 graded SGC 96 MINT 9 with none grade higher.
