Every world-class 1960 Topps football set should start off with a stunning PSA 9 example of Johnny Unitas' card #1, yet not a single one of them does. But that could be about to change as the one and only specimen to earn a MINT grade from PSA with none higher is now available to any and all advanced set-builders as well as any collector that appreciates elite level specimens. Placed almost perfectly in the center of the canvas as confirmed by the even, brilliant white border, the central image of the short-haired gunslinger retains a perfect blend of robust pigments, so well-detailed that you can easily focus in on Unitas' baby blues. A light rough cut guards the top and left edges, adding credence to its "one of one" status while each corner can confidently state its case for GEM MINT status. The hunter green reverse will impress many collectors even more than the pristine image, showing much lighter than usual evidence of the white print circles that have limited MINT specimens to just the example you see before you. As the single most important card in existence from the 1960 Topps set, the high bidder here will be raising the level of their set, and their entire collection as a whole, to unprecedented heights!
