The 1960 Topps baseball card release is well known among hobbyists for its strong crop of rookie cards, most notably that of Hall of Famer Carl Yastrzemski and fellow Cooperstown inductee Willie McCovey, as well as the usual and expected plethora of period stars. The Topps decision makers reverted to the horizontal format not seen since 1956, with the exception of certain multi-player cards, which would turn out to be the final utilization of that design. This mid to upper level collection includes #148 Yastrzemski RC EX/MT+, 200 Mays VG, 250 Musial EX/MT, 300 Aaron VG+, 316 McCovey RC EX/MT, 326 Clemente EX, 343 Koufax NM/MT, 350 Mantle VG+, 377 Maris VG/EX (PD), 445 Spahn 480 Berra EX/MT (PD), 563 Mantle AS VG/EX, 564 Mays AS EX+ (OC), 565 Maris AS EX and 566 Aaron AS EX+. The rest of the set is 15% NM or higher, 25% EX/MT, 40% EX, 15% VG/EX and 5% lower.
