Many NFL historians consider Jim Brown to not only be the greatest running back of all-time but also the greatest overall player to ever set foot on the gridiron. A true workhorse in the Browns backfield, Brown led the league in rushes for six of his nine professional seasons, but also ranks #3 all-time among running backs with an average of 5.2 yards per carry. As a result, Jim Brown claimed the NFL rushing title eight times and was tops in rushing TDs five times. And while his 1958 Topps rookie card is considered to be one of the most coveted football cards ever produced, it's his extremely rare 1959 Kahn's issue that hardcore Brown collectors have trouble tracking down. Though Kahn's issued football cards from 1959 through 1964, examples from the initial '59 release are much scarcer due to their limited distribution. The featured card is the single finest specimen known to exist, a SGC 92 NM/MT+ 8.5 miracle that is unmatched on the SGC pop report and a half-grade above two examples listed with PSA. The borderless specimen barely yields and hint of wear around the perimeter while the central image, nearly identical to the depiction on the '58 Topps card as if it was snapped just a split second later, is extremely sharp and well-registered. The simple reverse cleanly delivers Brown's vital info on a bright white canvas. For advanced football card collectors, there aren't many examples out there that carry the significance of this incredible gem!
