Entering his third season in the bigs, "Bob" had yet to establish himself as a formidable offensive threat although he did post a .311 batting average in 1956. The featured 1957 Topps card introduces Clemente in one of the finest portrait shots of "Arriba" ever produced, perfectly detailed and surrounded by a bone-white border that flaunts its near perfect centering. Three of the four corners are borderline GEM MINT and the reverse is pristine, a spotless gray canvas containing pure, unadulterated black and red print. Only one example has earned the grade of PSA 10, and this one comes really, really close!
