Entering the market is perhaps the single greatest unopened relic of the early gridiron, a guaranteed authentic and unopened 1957 Topps cello pack showing a razor-sharp example of Johnny Unitas' iconic rookie card on front and a no less impressive example of George Blanda's card #31 on back. Conservatively graded EX/MT 6 by GAI and tightly sealed and perfectly protected in Global's tamper-proof holder, the cellophane wrap shows splits at each corner but absolutely no other imperfections whatsoever, leading the curious admirer to question the opinion of EX/MT 6. The seal on back is perfect, the edges (except at the corners) are perfect, and the front is just about perfect as well, with only a few slight undulations in the cellophane protecting the uncirculated Unitas card within. Condition-wise, the pack is essentially perfect except for its delicately split corners, while the cards within present as a perfect cardboard brick. Counted among those 10 not showing may be the famous rookie issues of Bart Starr, Paul Hornung, Dick Lane, and/or Ray Berry, or any of several dozen Hall of Famers checklisted in the 1957 Topps issue. With only 155 cards in the set, chances are that at least a few stars and Hall of Famers reside within, but we wouldn't recommend finding out for sure. This pack, despite its grade, is perfect as it is, and without question ranks among the single finest unopened treasures in the hobby.
