The Washington Senators were rarely contenders for the American League pennant, and they were downright dreadful in 1955, posting a bottom-feeding 53-101 record. Sitting on the bench that season was a 19 year old rookie who played third base. It took him several more years to crack the starting lineup, but Hall of Famer Harmon Killebrew become one of the most consistent home run hitters in baseball history, topping the 40 homer mark eight times in his career. Killebrew's teenage signature, along with many of his Senators teammates and coaches, appear on this incredible Official American League (Harridge) baseball that could very well be the finest in existence. A stunning and rare signature of Chuck Dressen is on the sweet spot, with Oldis, Stobbs, Busby, Vernon, Umphlett, Altrock, Delis (signed twice), Lavagetto, Edwards, Roig, Kline, Shea, Sievers, Oravetz, Abernathy, Clary, Yost, Porterfield, Fitz Gerald, Stone, Runnels, Lemon, Schmitz, Ramos and others. LOA from JSA.
