With the acquisition of a PSA 8 example of Roberto Clemente's coveted 1955 Topps rookie card virtually out of the question for all but the most well-financed hobbyists, many collectors are desperately trying to secure a strong PSA 7 example for their high-grade set, though the recent rise in prices is making that opportunity almost as fleeting. But while there's still a chance, we're happy to offer this stunning example. First off, the centering is probably more accurate than the majority of specimens at this grade level, a huge advantage right there, and the central image color is more than satisfactory for the given grade. The perimeter is textbook NM while the lightly toned reverse has no trouble upholding the standards as determined by PSA. Time is running short for collectors in the market for a Clemente RC, and if the trend holds, you may have to drop down another grade soon to get one at this price level.
