Graded NM/MT 8 by PSA. With prices of early rookie cards like Mantle and Mays soaring to stratospheric levels, what can the future hold for this card? Boxing legend Muhammad Ali once called Hank Aaron “The only man I idolize more than myself ” and in 1970, Hall of Famer Mickey Mantle said “As far as I’m concerned, Aaron is the best baseball player of my era. He is to baseball the last 15 years what Joe DiMaggio was before him. He’s never received the credit he’s due.” The offered collectible stands up to the opined grade exceptionally, well offering the enthusiast a pristine background of pumpkin orange that acts as crushed velvet enveloping the youthful slugger and causing the Braves cap to appear to be jumping of the surface to greet all onlookers. Each of the four corners project to a strong NM/MT appearance and appear to be teetering on entry into the next grading tier while the centering shows a gentle lean to the right edge assuring all of us that perfection is not always granted. The surface of the card is regaled in a shimmering rendition of original gloss with nary a disturbance, as well the reverse is an appealing green from tip to tip with no chipping apparent. A stunning card offered at the top end of the grade.
