While Hank Aaron's iconic 1954 Topps rookie card is now reaching prices that few modest collectors can afford, a wonderful alternative is the regional Johnston Cookies card of "The Hammer", also produced in 1954 which allows it to lay claim as a true, and considerably more scarce, rookie issue. Centered moderately toward the right side, a common trait for the series, the card offers EX/MT to NM corners and a fantastic image of the rising star. The reverse shows some stray print at the top edge, but the opportunity to land a mid to upper-grade Hank Aaron rookie card is right here for the taking!
