When only two PSA MINT 9s and a single GEM MINT 10 exist for a card that has seen over 800 submissions, we learn to appreciate the virtues of NM/MT. The offered specimen, for example, features a remarkable image quality that more than adequately makes up for the accurately graded NM/MT corners and edges. As is customary with most ‘53 Topps issues, the lion’s share of edge wear is concentrated along the bottom and lower right edges within the black box. Other highlights include precise centering and a copious application of gloss encompassing a virtually blemish-free surface. The reverse is clean as well and could easily pass for MINT.
