Even though he was serving in the Army and didn't actually play during the 1953 season, Topps included Willie Mays as a short print in the high number series. The offered PSA 4 example has a clean picture with nice eye appeal. One can't help to notice the exceptional artwork that depicts a very youthful Mays fielding the baseball against an outfield setting on a partly cloudy, blue sky day. The quality of this card brings out the deep green colors of the grass & trees. The centering is more than adequate for the grade, and if not for a corner wrinkle, visible only from the reverse side, this card would exceed the qualities of it given grade.
