The batting champion convinced his fellow duck hunting friend, Gussie Busch, to purchase the Cardinals franchise in 1953 to ensure his residence would keep him in St. Louis until retirement. I'm pretty sure that led to his big smile depicted on the offered 1953 Bowman card. This NM/MT example has perfect centering, and great color. While the bottom two corners are within the boundaries provided to this grade, it is our belief that the sharpness of the top two would more likely lend to the next higher grade. In addition, a rough factory blade cut adds character to the right side edge. At this grade level, this is an exceptional example and would make a nice addition to any collection. The offered card has been reviewed by an independent third part and has been found to have exceptional qualities for the opined grade. The sticker can be removed if desired.
