There are three cards that stand out from the many great issues in Topps' inaugural effort: The first card of the set, Andy Pafko, card #311, the famous '52 Topps Mickey Mantle rookie card, and the last card of the set, the rookie card of Hall of Famer Eddie Mathews. Each of these issues are pricey in low grade and rare in high grade, so when we have the opportunity to offer one of these timeless classics, we do so with extreme pride. Presented for your bidding consideration is an utterly spectacular example of home run clubbing Eddie Mathews' 1952 Topps high-number rookie issue, the famous final card of the groundbreaking 1952 Topps set. Graded SGC 84 NM 7, the offered showpiece exhibits one of the most magnificent images we've ever seen, highlighted by pixel-perfect registration that is completely devoid of any superfluous print, far outclassing the large majority of other Mathews rookie cards circulating throughout the hobby. Perfectly preserved colors dominate both surfaces, and the centering is among the most accurate that we've ever seen for a '52 Topps Mathews in any grade. The corners easily meet NM standards and might even be slightly better. If you're in the market for this card at the NM level, you'll have a tough time finding one that compares to this beauty.
