When you combine the mystique of the 1952 Topps high-number series with a rookie card of a baseball legend like Eddie Mathews and place him as the last card in the set, you've got a trifecta that makes for one of the most significant prints in the history of Topps. This sufficiently centered 1952 Topps Eddie Mathews high-number boasts a pleasing array of significantly above-grade features for the seemingly conservative opinion of PSA 3.5 VG+. At this level, one typically expects to encounter creasing, advanced corner wear, or some other glaring imperfection indicative of the grade, but this stalwart specimen shows nothing glaring to detract from the overall presentation. All four corners are evenly worn and the card could easily have been granted that extra half grade without objection. A handsome specimen that would positively shine in any collection.
