Here's one of the more intriguing and unique items we have had the pleasure of auctioning in some time: a seldom-seen 1952 Topps three-card salesman's sample, evaluated and encapsulated as authentic by SGC. While we have certainly offered '52 salesman's samples in the past, this one is extraordinary in that it has a fully printed reverse rather than the customary advertisement for "Giant Size Topps Baseball Picture Cards." This panel includes sequential cards of Hank Edwards, Bill Wight and Cass Michaels and shows remnants of a mailing label on the reverse, suggesting that it was mailed by Topps to a merchant to entice ordering of the new product. A tremendously important relic from the onset of the modern hobby, perfect for the collector of uncommon, esoteric items.
