Sure, the importance of his appearance in the first Topps set and the fact that it's a high number must be taken into account, but the 1951 Bowman issue of Mantle is really where it all begins! One glance at the offered PSA 6 specimen creates a feeling of excitement that overwhelms both the beginner and expert collector alike.
