Graded VG+ 3.5 by PSA. Offered is absolutely one of the defining cards within the decade of the 1950's and for that matter our entire hobby, Mickey Mantle's true rookie card from the 1951 Bowman issue. Imaged as an 18 year old at Spring training Mantle had been lauded over and publicized to the masses by Casey Stengel, and is seen here in a horizontal format with the traces of a number six on his back which he briefly wore before his mid season demotion. Well centered with deep bold color and an attractive overall appearance. The downfall is the mild to moderate corner wear which accounts for the opined grade.
